Paruppu Podi

Paruppu podi is a easy and simple recipe which is filled with flavors. It is prepared by roasting few spices along with roasted chana dal and grinding it to a powder. It tastes delicious when mixed with hot steamed rice along with ghee. Home made paruppu podi tastes great than the store bought ones.

Preparation time – 5 min
Cooking time – 10 min

Ingredients:

Roasted chana dal – 1 cup
Oil – 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Garlic cloves – 2
Red chilies – 4 or as required
Curry leaves – few
Salt – as required

Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan and add in mustard seeds. When it splutters add in cumin seeds, garlic, red chilies, curry leaves and roasted chana dal. Roast it on a medium flame for 5 minutes and switch off the stove. Allow it to cool down.

2. Transfer the roasted ingredients to a mixie along with required salt and grind it.

Enjoy this aromatic paruppu podi along with hot steamed rice and ghee.
