Urad dal ladoo is a tasty sweet preparation from Andhra Pradesh. It is also called as “Sunnundalu”. This can be prepared for any festivals and other celebrations.
Preparation time – 20 min
Makes – 12-15 ladoos
Ingredients:
Urad dal ( split black gram) – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Cashews – 15 pieces chopped into small pieces
Ghee/Clarified butter – 1/2 cup, approx
Method:
1.In a pan dry roast the Urad dal till it is nice and golden in colour. Make sure to roast it on a medium flame. Once it is roasted allow it to cool down completely and then grind it to a fine powder.


2. Powder 1 cup of sugar and keep it aside. In a bowl mix the urad dal powder and the powdered sugar. Saute the pieces of cashews in a 2 tsp of ghee and mix it with the urad dal and the sugar mixture.


3. Melt the ghee/clarified butter. Keep adding the ghee little by little to the urad dal and sugar mixture until it forms like a soft dough.

4. Take small portions of the dough and make it like a ladoo.
The yummy urad dal ladoo is all ready to enjoy.
