Cucumber Raita

Cucumber raita is a simple and easy dish which can be used as a dip or a salad. It is prepared by simply mixing pieces of cucumber, onions, tomatoes along with few other spices. It is such a refreshing dish which is typically served with many Indian dishes like parathas, pulav or biriyani.

Preparation time – 10 min
Cooking time – 5 min
Serves – 4

Ingredients:

Cucumber – 2 cups chopped into small pieces
Onion – 3 tbsp finely chopped
Tomatoes – 3 tbsp finely chopped
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – as required
Green chilies – 1, finely chopped or as per taste
Ginger – 1/8 tsp crushed finely
Cilantro/Coriander leaves – 1 tsp finely chopped
Curd/Yogurt – required for mixing

Method:

Combine the pieces of cucumber, onion and tomatoes in a bowl. Add in green chilies, ginger, cilantro, salt and cumin powder. Add curd/yogurt and mix well.

Serve this with any kind of parathas, pulav or with biriyani.
